Brownies

Brownies have a curious reputation. We speak of earning “brownie points.” As far as I am concerned this can only mean everybody likes his brownie: chocolatey, sweet, dense and moist – what’s there not to like? Still, I have yet to hear of someone eating brownies by the square foot. You could though! If you have the stomach for this. But brownies are filling. If you are out on a mountain hike and too early for breakfast being served, that’s what you should have in your backpack. Brownies taste particularly good with a little something in your backpocket flask. (I hope you don’t fill your canteen with that stuff. Because, if you do, you just may have a little problem.)...

Happy National Day

A birthday is coming up. We are already constantly reminded. Flags and banners proliferate almost by the hour. In the fast food joints, you spot young men and women of the NS in camouflage fatigues – but somebody should tell the authorities that “NS” is a rather unfortunate ABN (abbreviation) to use for… well everything. Anniversaries

We all know what it means to sit in the dog-house. Forgetting your anniversary – and I am looking at you, Sir – is a surefire way to share the bunk with Lassie in her shack. I hope the dog likes you. I don’t know the statistics, but, apparently, men are more likely to forget anniversaries than women, so it is a good idea to keep this day in your calendar. Don’t even think about showing it to her — she may think less of you for doing that — when all you are is being careful. So the day approaches, and guess what? You do remember the day but you have just no idea how to make the customary...

The Right Flowers for the Right Occasion

The Right Flowers for The Right Occasion July 4, 2016 admin Leave a comment Joyous? Solemn? Reflective? Professional? What word best describes your next event? We ask because so frequently people come into the Confetti Gifts shop bewildered at the range of floral decorations on offer, and not sure if they’re sending the right message with one they like the look of. Discovering the underlying emotion of the day – be it a mournful remembrance, or a wild, energetic business celebration – is the key to finding the right flowers to help set the mood. How long they’ll be in the room, where and what time of day will all contribute to finding the right arrangement. Do you want them to perfume the...

The Way to Make Someone Happy in Singapore

At Confetti Gifts, our team starts every day with one goal – to brighten someone’s day just a little bit. ‘Make Someone Happy’ is our slogan for a reason, and it’s a philosophy that shapes every one of our decisions. What makes people happy? Something beautiful, or delicious, or cuddly, or something that reminds them of their home, their friends or their family. Our store was founded on two ideas: that handcrafted is always better than factory-made, and you know your loved ones better than anyone. That’s why our range is so diverse. We’re not just a florist, a baker, or a gift shop; we’re all three and more. We try to balance quality and range, giving you the widest possible...
