It is coming. We are still celebrating Chinese New Year – but Valentine’s is waiting for you at the end of it: the question! THE QUESTION! What do I give her for Valentine’s? What should it be? What that is not the usual run of the mill $100,000 diamond and sapphire bracelet with a Ferrari dressed with whipped cream on top? I mean - don’t let me stop you if absolutely you must – the consequences are between you and your bankt. So downsizing to a toy car (symbol of a promise) and a Swavowsky glass – pardon me! – “crystal”-ware to dangle from her wrist could be a serious option – I am kidding. Or not!  The problem lovers...

Fresh or artificial? The ramblings of a puzzled man…

Lately, a still unmarried man walked in and asked if we could preserve the bridal bouquet after his wedding? What he meant to have was a lasting memorial of his forthcoming marriage. The preservation of the bridal bouquet is a bit of a mummification job – I heard the Japanese are good at this. But then again, the Japanese also put a blue potato in an expensive wrapper as a gift for a friend. The man talking to me had obviously never considered the custom of tossing the bridal bouquet into the crowd of the unmarried maidens – who catches it would be married next.  Actually, it is a bit surprising to think of the Japanese preserving bouquets.
